1. Butter, Jam, and Turkish Tea

This is a very easy breakfast food you can make and the whole Balkan enjoys it, due to its simplicity and delicious taste. All it requires is butter, fruit jam, toasted bread slices, and Turkish tea! If you want to make it even more Balkan you can use Turkish tea cups which you can find at our online store! When it comes to the jam, you can use any type of jam of your choice from, strawberry and fig, to quince and apricot.

2. Sausage (Sujuk) with Eggs

Let’s start by explaining what kind of sausages Sujuk is. Additionally, it consists mainly of ground meat and animal fat and is a dry and fermented sausage. You can enjoy it in several ways, such as, on its own, with eggs on the side or mixed together, for pizza, mixed with cream, and more!

As mentioned above, you can enjoy this sausage in two ways when it comes to eggs. You can mix them up with scabbled eggs or have sunny-side-up eggs on the side. This is a simple and very effective breakfast to start your day. To add a twist you can even sprinkle different herbs such as Vegeta, dill, parsley, and others!

To get a Balkan-style sujuk, you should visit your local Balkan store, or order it online for fast delivery!

3. Roasted Red Peppers in Heavy Cream

This is a favorite because you simply can’t go wrong with peppers in the Balkans. There are endless possibilities when it comes to peppers. You can roast, and cook them in heavy cream, mix them with garlic and eat them on their own, create sauces, and many others!

For this meal, you should start by roasting the peppers and then simmer in heavy cream mixed with salt and pepper. It is a hearty, comforting, and filling meal. You usually pair it with bread, where you would dip the bread in the sauce and eat the pepper! Bonus points if the bread is hot!
